Linda Ann Nickerson presents Off Course - Haikus and Views on Racetrack News posted at The Mane Point Is . . ., saying, "The 134th Kentucky Derby horse race , held Saturday, May 3, 2008, was marked by both triumph and tragedy. The undefeated Big Brown won, of course, but Eight Belles (the only filly in the race) collapsed after the finish line and broke both front ankles. The horse was euthanized on the spot. This six-haiku series questions the public perspectives and emphases that followed."
funny
Linda Ann Nickerson presents Bleeding Us Dry posted at Practically at Home, saying, "Have you ever been to one of those "Casino Night" fund-raisers? On such nights, participants may spend exorbitant amounts of money for formal attire and blow big bucks at the gaming tables . . . all in the name of a favorite charity. Honestly! Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just write them a check in the first place?"

Linda Ann Nickerson presents Flower Master - Haikus in Bloom posted at Nickers and Ink, saying, "Linked series of Five haikus expresses how the Master Gardener tenderly cares for the works of His hands."
